What are the pros and cons of Cetirizine?

  • Less drowsiness than Benadryl (diphenhydramine)

  • Can cause more drowsiness than other second-generation antihistamines like Allegra (fexofenadine) and Claritin (loratadine)
  • Can cause a serious allergic reaction for people who are allergic to hydroxyzine.
