Glimepiride (Amaryl) Side Effects

Possible side effects of glimepiride are listed below. Call your doctor if they are severe or persist after a few days.

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Headache

Some of the side effects of glimepiride are more serious. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:

  • Yellowed skin or eyes
  • Stomach pains in the right upper part of your abdomen
  • Dark colored urine
  • Light colored stool
  • Diarrhea
  • Flu-like symptoms (fever, sore throat)
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising

Glimepiride Overdose: In case of an overdose of glimepiride, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 or emergency services if a person has collapsed, cannot breathe, has had a seizure, or cannot be awakened. Signs and symptoms of an overdose may include loss of consciousness and convulsions.
