What is Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium)?

LIPITOR (lip uh tor) is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor or statin. It is an oral prescription medication that is a lipid-lowering agent. Lipitor is used to treat high cholesterol and reduce the risk of angina (chest pain), heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems.
