What side effects should I be expecting from taking pantoprazole?

  • Severe stomach pain
  • Diarrhea that is bloody or extremely watery
  • Seizures
  • Sudden bone pain and pain when moving your wrist, back, or hip

  • Generally, daily use of pantoprazole for longer than three years can cause cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B-12) malabsorption, leading to B-12 deficiency. Your doctor will order blood tests to ensure that your blood magnesium is within normal range.
