Side Effects


What are Zocor (simvastatin) side effects?

The most common side effects of Zocor are listed below. Call your doctor if these side effects are severe or do not improve over time.

    Upper respiratory infections

    Constipation

    Nausea

    Stomach pain

    Headache

●     Confusion

●     Forgetfulness

●     Red, itchy skin

There are some other possible Zocor side effects that are more serious. Contact your doctor without delay or get emergency medical care if you experience the following symptoms while on Zocor treatment:

    Muscle pain, lack of energy, tiredness, weakness, with or without fever

    Dark-colored urine, decreased urination

    Loss of appetite

    Pain in the upper right part of the abdomen

    Yellowed eyes or skin

    Fever, chills

●     Flushing

●     Blisters

●     Rash, hives, itchy skin

●     Difficulty breathing or swallowing

●     Swelling in the face, throat, tongue, lips, hands, feet

●     Joint pain

●     Hoarseness

●     Light sensitivity

Zocor Overdose: One extra dose of Zocor is unlikely to be harmful. However, if you have taken more than one extra dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist without delay. In case of an overdose, call 911 if the person has collapsed, cannot breathe, or cannot be awakened. NOTE: Zocor is a prescription drug intended to be used only by you - never share your Zocor with others or use someone else’s medicine.
