  • Celecoxib can effectively treat pain caused by many different conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, and menstrual cramps. 
  • Taking Celebrex (celecoxib) is less likely to cause stomach upset compared to some other NSAIDs.
  • People who have trouble swallowing capsules can sprinkle the contents of a celecoxib capsule onto some applesauce.
  • This medicine can be given to children 2 years of age and above.

  • Celecoxib is more expensive than some other NSAIDs.
  • It is not available over-the-counter, unlike other NSAIDs like ibuprofen.
  • This medicine is not safe for pregnant women in the third trimester.
  • Celecoxib is not the best option to treat pain in people with a history of heart disease and heart failure.
  • This medicine can increase the risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events. You should not take celecoxib right before or after a coronary artery bypass graft.
