How To Use Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid)

Clomiphene comes in the form of a tablet to be taken once a day by mouth for a 5-day cycle. Your healthcare provider will discuss proper timing with you. Clomid use is typically started on day 5 of your menstrual cycle.

Read the prescription label carefully and take this fertility drug exactly as prescribed. Do not take a higher or lower dose or take it more or less frequently than advised by your healthcare provider.

Try to take your medicine at around the same time every day for maximum benefit. This will also help you remember to take it.

Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose of clomiphene, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, call your doctor for instructions. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Storage: Store clomiphene at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused or expired clomiphene should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw clomiphene in the trash or flush it down the toilet. The best way to dispose of expired or unneeded clomiphene is through your local waste disposal company or a drug take-back program.
