Dorzolamide-Timolol (Cosopt) Uses

The combination of dorzolamide and timolol is used to treat eye conditions such as ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma. Ocular hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure in the eye is elevated. Glaucoma is a condition in which there is increased intraocular pressure (increased pressure inside the eye), which can damage the optic nerve and cause a gradual but permanent loss of vision.

There may be other uses of dorzolamide and timolol. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist can give you further dorzolamide-timolol drug information.

Dorzolamide-Timolol (Cosopt) Mechanism of Action

Dorzolamide and timolol work by decreasing the secretion of aqueous humor, a natural fluid in the eye, thereby reducing intraocular pressure.

Dorzolamide-Timolol (Cosopt) Doses

Dorzolamide-timolol is available as an ophthalmic solution for topical administration. The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice a day.
