Side Effects


Glyburide (Micronase) Adverse Effects

Possible side effects of glyburide are listed below. Tell your doctor if they are severe or do not go away after a few days.

  • Nausea
  • Heartburn
  • Bloating or fullness in the upper abdomen
  • Low blood sugar

Other more serious side effects of glyburide are listed below. Call your doctor right away if you experience side effects such as:

  • Swelling of the face, eyes, throat, tongue, or lips (signs of allergic reactions)
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin
  • Light colored stools
  • Dark urine
  • Pain in the right upper abdomen
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Sore throat

The above list may not include all the possible side effects of glyburide. Call your doctor or seek immediate medical help if you experience any severe side effects or unusual symptoms. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Glyburide Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, call your doctor or the local poison control center immediately. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911. An overdose of glyburide can cause seizures and loss of consciousness.
