Integra Plus Side Effects
Possible side effects of Integra Plus are listed below. Call your doctor if these side effects are severe or do not go away in a few days.
- Stomach discomfort
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
More severe reactions can also occur occasionally. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:
- An allergic reaction with skin rash, itching, hives
- Swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat
- Trouble breathing or swallowing
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of Integra Plus. Tell your doctor if the side effects are unusual or severe or last more than a few days. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Integra Plus Overdose: The estimated overdose level of iron is 300 mg/kilogram of body weight. In case of an overdose of Integra Plus, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has difficulty breathing, cannot be awakened, has collapsed, or has had a seizure.
Signs and symptoms of acute overdosage of Integra Plus may include nausea, vomiting, pale skin, bluish tinge to the hands and feet, black, tarry stools, drowsiness, coma, cardiovascular collapse, and even death in severe cases.
For treatment of an overdose, doctors may use chelating agents and an exchange transfusion as specific therapy. They may also perform gastric lavage with sodium bicarbonate solution or milk to flush medications out of the stomach. In addition, they may administer intravenous fluids and electrolytes and give supplemental oxygen for the general management of other symptoms.
