Ipratropium Bromide Side Effects

Possible side effects of ipratropium bromide are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or last more than a few days.

  • Dizziness
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Constipation
  • Back pain
  • Difficulty urinating, pain with urination, frequent urination

Other side effects of ipratropium bromide can be more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop signs of an unusual or allergic reaction, such as:

  • Skin rash, hives, itching
  • Swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue, throat, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  • Trouble breathing or swallowing
  • Chest pain
  • Fast or pounding heartbeat
  • Hoarseness

Ipratropium bromide Overdose: In case of an overdose of ipratropium bromide, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, cannot breathe, has had a seizure, or cannot be awakened.
