Janumet Side Effects

Some of the common adverse effects of Janumet are listed below. Tell your doctor if these symptoms are severe or do not go away after a few days. 

  • Diarrhea
  • Symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection such as a runny nose or stuffy nose
  • Headache
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, decreased appetite

There can be more severe adverse reactions reported by a small number of people who are taking Janumet. Stop taking Janumet and call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Signs and symptoms of allergic reactions such as hives, itching, skin rash, or blistering or peeling of the skin
  • Signs and symptoms of severe hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the face, eyes, throat, tongue, lips, hands, legs, or feet
  • Abdominal pain in the right upper part of the abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  • Loss of appetite
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin
  • Dark-colored urine
  • Severe joint pain

Janumet Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, call your doctor, the local poison control center, or the provincial poison control center immediately. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911.
