Nabumetone Uses

Nabumetone has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is used to treat pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness in people with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Nabumetone Mechanism of Action

The parent drug or prodrug nabumetone is converted into an active metabolite in the body. This medicine works by decreasing the production of natural substances called prostaglandins, which cause pain and inflammation.

Nabumetone Doses

Nabumetone comes as 500 mg and 750 mg tablets. The usual dose is 1,000 mg daily as a single dose. Some patients need 1,500 mg or 2,000 mg in 1-2 doses to get symptom relief.
