What are nystatin side effects?

Common side effects of nystatin are listed below. Tell your doctor if these adverse effects persist or are severe.

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach bloating
  • Stomach pain

Nystatin can also cause more serious adverse reactions in a small number of people. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you experience:

  • Burning or irritation in the mouth
  • Hives, rash, itching, or other signs of allergic reactions
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing

Nystatin overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose of nystatin, get emergency medical help right away. Call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or the national poison helpline at 1-800-222-1222. Symptoms of a nystatin overdose may include nausea, diarrhea, and stomach pain
