What may interact with Terbinafine?

Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:

-thioridazine
This medicine may also interact with the following medications:

-beta-blockers
-caffeine
-cimetidine
-cyclosporine
-medicines for depression, anxiety, or psychotic disturbances
-medicines for fungal infections like fluconazole and ketoconazole
-medicines for irregular heartbeat like amiodarone, flecainide and propafenone
-rifampin
-warfarin

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Terbinafine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

-drink alcoholic beverages
-kidney disease
-liver disease
-an unusual or allergic reaction to terbinafine, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Terbinafine?

Visit your doctor or health care provider regularly. Tell your doctor right away if you have nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain on your right upper side, yellow skin, dark urine, light stools, or are over tired. Some fungal infections need many weeks or months of treatment to cure. If you are taking this medicine for a long time, you will need to have important blood work done.
This medicine may cause serious skin reactions. They can happen weeks to months after starting the medicine. Contact your health care provider right away if you notice fevers or flu-like symptoms with a rash. The rash may be red or purple and then turn into blisters or peeling of the skin. Or, you might notice a red rash with swelling of the face, lips or lymph nodes in your neck or under your arms.

Where should I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature below 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Protect from light. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
