What is Zocor (simvastatin)?

Zocor (zoh kuh) is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor or statin. It is a prescription oral medication that is a cholesterol-lowering agent. Zocor is used to treat high cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other problems of the blood vessels.

Who can take Zocor (simvastatin)?
