How should I use Budesonide?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Do not cut, crush, or chew this medicine. Swallow the capsules whole. If you have difficulty swallowing, you may open the capsule and put the contents in 1 tablespoon of applesauce. Swallow the medicine and applesauce right away. Do not chew the medicine or applesauce. Take your dose in the morning. Do not take with grapefruit juice. You can take it with or without food. If it upsets your stomach, take it with food. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking this medicine except on the advice of your doctor or health care professional.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 8 years for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of Budesonide contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: Budesonide is only for you. Do not share Budesonide with others.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
