Bystolic Uses

Bystolic is a prescription medicine used to lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure (hypertension).

There may be other uses of this medicine — your healthcare provider or pharmacist can provide medical advice and give you further Bystolic drug information.

Bystolic Mechanism of Action

Bystolic works by making the blood vessels relax or widen, which helps to slow the heart rate and improve blood flow, thus lowering blood pressure.

Bystolic Doses

Bystolic is available as a tablet in doses of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg. The usual starting dose of Bystolic is 5 mg once daily by mouth. The dose may be increased at two-week intervals if needed, up to a maximum daily dose of Bystolic 40 mg.
