Chlordiazepoxide Side Effects
Possible side effects of chlordiazepoxide are listed below. Call your doctor if they are severe or continue after a few days:
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Unusual tiredness
- Weakness
- Upset stomach
- Diarrhea
- Changes in appetite
- Dry mouth
Call your doctor if you develop the following symptoms:
- Unusual excitement
- Restlessness
- Blurred vision
- Slurred speech
- Difficulty urinating
- Frequent urination
- Constipation
- Sexual intercourse difficulty
- Changes in libido (sex drive) or sexual ability
Chlordiazepoxide can also cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical help if you develop:
- Severe skin rash, hives, itching
- Difficulty breathing
- Irregular heartbeat
- Fever
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes
- Fine tremors or uncontrolled movements
- Muscle pain
- Inability to sit still
- Shuffling walk

Chlordiazepoxide Overdose: Should an overdose occur, call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has stopped responding, lost consciousness, had a seizure, or stopped breathing.
