Clobetasol (Clobex) Uses

Clobetasol is a topical corticosteroid used to treat the itching, dryness, swelling, redness, irritation, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin and scalp conditions, including psoriasis and eczema.

Clobetasol (Clobex) Mechanism of Action

Clobetasol works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, pain, and itching.

Clobetasol (Clobex) Doses

Clobetasol topical is available as a 0.05% cream (Temovate, Cormax, Embeline E),0.025% cream (Impoyz), 0.05% lotion (Clobex), 0.05% spray (Clobex), 0.05% gel (Clobevate), 0.05% ointment (Temovate), 0.05% shampoo (Clobex Shampoo, Clodan Shampoo), 0.05% foam (Olux, Olux E). 

For all topical forms except the shampoo: Apply or spray a thin film to the affected skin areas two times in a day. Rub it gently and completely.

For shampoo: Make sure the scalp is dry before applying. Apply a thin film to the affected scalp areas and massage gently once a day. Leave in place for 15 minutes. Add water, lather, and then rinse it off thoroughly.

Make sure not to use more than 50 g or 50 mL of clobetasol in a week.
