What may interact with Enbrel?

Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:
-anakinra

This medicine may also interact with the following medications:
-cyclophosphamide
-sulfasalazine
-vaccines

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Enbrel?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-blood disorders
-cancer
-congestive heart failure
-diabetes
-exposure to chickenpox
-immune system problems
-infection
-multiple sclerosis
-seizure disorder
-tuberculosis, a positive skin test for tuberculosis or have recently been in close contact with someone who has tuberculosis
-Wegener''s granulomatosis
-an unusual or allergic reaction to etanercept, latex, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Enbrel?

Tell your doctor or healthcare professional if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.

You will be tested for tuberculosis (TB) before you start this medicine. If your doctor prescribes any medicine for TB, you should start taking the TB medicine before starting this medicine. Make sure to finish the full course of TB medicine.

Call your doctor or health care professional for advice if you get a fever, chills or sore throat, or other symptoms of a cold or flu. Do not treat yourself. This drug decreases your body''s ability to fight infections. Try to avoid being around people who are sick.

Where should I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children.

Enbrel products:
Store unopened Enbrel vials, cartridges, or pens in a refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees C (36 and 46 degrees F). Do not freeze. Do not shake. Keep in the original container to protect from light. Throw away any unopened and unused medicine that has been stored in the refrigerator after the expiration date.
If needed, you may store an Enbrel single-use vial, single-dose prefilled syringe, SureClick autoinjector, or Enbrel Mini cartridge at room temperature between 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F) for up to 14 days. Protect from light, heat, and moisture. Do not shake. Once any of these items are stored at room temperature, do not place them back into the refrigerator. Throw the item away after 14 days, even if it still contains medicine.
If you are using the Enbrel multi-dose vials, you will be instructed on how to dilute and store this medicine once it has been diluted.
The Enbrel AutoTouch reusable autoinjector device should be stored at room temperature. Do NOT refrigerate the AutoTouch reusable autoinjector.

Erelzi products:
Store Erelzi prefilled syringes or Sensoready pen in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees C (36 and 46 degrees F). Do not freeze. Do not shake. Keep in the original container to protect from light. Throw away any unopened and unused medicine that has been stored in the refrigerator after the expiration date.
If needed, you may store the Erelzi prefilled syringe or pen at room temperature between 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F) for up to 28 days. Protect from light, heat, and moisture. Do not shake. Once any of these items are stored at room temperature, do not place them back into the refrigerator. Throw the item away after 28 days, even if it still contains medicine.
