How should I use Sodium Fluoride?

Take this medicine by mouth. Chew it completely or allow this medicine to dissolve in the mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. It is best to take after brushing the teeth at night. Do not eat or drink any dairy products within 1 hour of taking this medicine. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 6 months old for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of Sodium Fluoride contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: Sodium Fluoride is only for you. Do not share Sodium Fluoride with others.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
