After being diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer, Ashlyn spent many months in chemotherapy treatments and at doctor’s appointments. 

When wish granters arrived at Ashlyn’s home, she let them know right away that whatever her wish was, she wanted it to involve being outdoors and spending time with her family. Keeping this mind, as well as her love of high swings, it did not take long for her to wish for a play set with a tire swing. Her parents also wanted the play set to be partially covered so Ashlyn could enjoy it no matter what the weather. 

Ashlyn’s dream of being able to “swing high” anytime she wants finally came true when she received her dream play set. Her eyes lit up and she squealed with excitement at the sight of the new slide, rope ladders, and of course, the swings. Volunteers planned a party so Ashlyn could enjoy the excitement of her wish with all her friends and family members. The kids enjoyed hours of climbing, swinging, and playing games.

Ashlyn’s wish reveal party brought the family adorable photos to cherish for years, and memories that they will never forget. The play set is a continued reminder of the strength Ashlyn showed throughout her treatment and will be something she enjoys for years to come.
