  • Do not crush or chew the oral tablet. However, you can break a tablet in half along the score line.

  • Taking trazodone with a light meal or snack can help to lessen the gastrointestinal side effects of this medicine.

  • If you have excessive daytime sleepiness on trazodone, talk to your doctor about changing the time of day when you take the medicine. Taking trazodone in the evening may help.

  • Arise slowly from a sitting or lying position while to trazodone to reduce the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure.

  • Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how trazodone affects you.

  • Do not stop trazodone suddenly as this can lead to unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor will tell you how to gradually reduce the dose.

  • Seek medical attention without delay if you notice any unusual changes in mood or behavior or have suicidal thinking while on trazodone.
