What may interact with Xylocaine?

Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:
-dofetilide
-MAOIs like Carbex, Eldepryl, Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate

This medicine may also interact with the following medications:
-medicines for blood pressure, heart disease, or irregular heart beat
-medicines for depression, anxiety, or psychotic disturbances
-other anesthetics
-phenytoin
-procarbazine

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Xylocaine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-infection
-an unusual or allergic reaction to lidocaine, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Xylocaine?

Your condition will be monitored carefully while you are receiving this medicine.

Be careful to avoid injury while the area is numb and you are not aware of pain.

Where should I keep my medicine?

This drug is given in a hospital or clinic and will not be stored at home.
