Ciprofloxacin (Ciloxan) Tips from Pharmacists

  • Continue using Ciloxan (ciprofloxacin ophthalmic) for the treatment duration your doctor recommends, even if your symptoms are gone. Stopping treatment too soon can cause your infection to come back and be harder to treat.

  • Wash your hands before handling the medicine. Do not touch the dropper or ointment tube tip to any surface, including your eye or hand. This is to prevent contamination.

  • Wait at least 5 minutes after applying ciprofloxacin ophthalmic drops in the affected eye before you use any other eye medication.

  • Do not wear soft contact lenses during ciprofloxacin treatment. Throw away your old pair and resume use with a fresh pair after your infection clears.
