Clotrimazole-Betamethasone Tips from Pharmacists

  • Clotrimazole and betamethasone are for external use only on affected skin areas. Do not apply this medicine near your eyes or in your mouth or vagina.

  • Use a thin layer of medicine and gently rub it into the affected areas. This medicine should be used only on normal, intact skin (clean, dry skin that is not broken, wounded, or cut).

  • Do not cover the treated area with a dressing unless your doctor tells you to.

  • Do not use other topical medications in the area without your doctor’s approval.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water after applying the medicine.

  • Tell your doctor if you do not see improvement in your symptoms within 1-2 weeks. Do not use clotrimazole and betamethasone for more than the prescribed treatment time, as this can lead to serious adverse events.

  • Do not use this medication in children younger than 17 years. Do not use it to treat diaper rash.
