Dicyclomine Tips from Pharmacists

  • Tell your doctor if you don’t see an improvement in your IBS symptoms after 2 weeks of taking dicyclomine or if your side effects are severe enough to prevent you from taking the full recommended dose. Your doctor may switch you over to another treatment for your condition.

  • Dicyclomine can cause you to sweat less and this may lead to heat stroke in hot weather. Make sure you stay well-hydrated while on this medicine.

  • This medicine can make you drowsy and dizzy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how dicyclomine affects you.

  • Do not take this medicine with antacids because they can reduce the body’s ability to absorb dicyclomine orally.
