Oxcarbazepine (ox-car-bah-zeh-peen) is an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic medication.

Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) Age Range

Oxcarbazepine is approved for use in adults and children. It can be used as monotherapy in children 4 years of age and older and adjunctive therapy in children 2 years of age and older. The extended-release tablets (Oxtellar XR) are approved to control seizures in adults and children 6 years of age and older.
