What is Viagra (sildenafil)?

VIAGRA (via a graa) is a PDE-5 inhibitor. It is a prescription oral medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). ED or impotence is a condition in which a patient cannot achieve or maintain an erection for satisfactory sexual intercourse.

Who can take Viagra (sildenafil)?

Viagra can be prescribed to adult men aged 18 and over. Viagra (sildenafil) is not for women and children. 

Sildenafil is also used to treat pulmonary hypertension. It is available under the brand name Revatio for this specific indication—pulmonary arterial hypertension. Revatio (sildenafil) is to be used in adults 18 years and older. Revatio is not recommended for use in children.
