Vitamin D3 Tips from Pharmacists

  • Take high-dose vitamin D supplementation only if advised by your healthcare provider. Too much vitamin D in the body can be harmful. Keep all your healthcare appointments and get the blood tests ordered by your doctor to make sure you are getting enough vitamin D to treat your vitamin D insufficiency but not too much.

  • If you are using the liquid form of vitamin D supplementation, use the dropper that comes with the medicine to measure the dose accurately.

  • Call your doctor if you develop signs and symptoms like loss of appetite, weight loss, urinary changes, or muscle pain while on vitamin D dietary supplements.

  • Check the labels of all your dietary supplements to ensure you are not taking vitamin D supplementation from multiple sources.
