-Medications that treat diarrhea
-Methadone
-Other medications for constipation

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Amitiza

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-History of blockage in your bowels
-History of stool (fecal) impaction
-Liver disease
-Stomach cancer
-An unusual or allergic reaction to lubiprostone, other medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-Breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Amitiza?

Visit your care team for regular checks on your progress. Tell your care team if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.

Where should I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Protect from light. Avoid exposure to extreme heat/cold. Throw away any unused medication after the expiration date.
