As this October marks ten years since BuzzRx launched our partnership with Make-A-Wish, I am reflecting on what it means both personally and professionally to help grant wishes for children battling critical illnesses over this past decade. 

I’m incredibly proud of the BuzzRx team for their commitment to Make-A-Wish’s mission. The heart and soul they’ve put into this partnership throughout the years have shown me the importance of giving back to the community and rallying around an important cause. Granting wishes renews hope, uplifts spirits, and encourages wish kids to fight harder against their illnesses. 

BuzzRx’s successful and longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish owes its credit to our compassionate team of Community Representatives and employees. The culture at BuzzRx has been forever transformed by Make-A-Wish, adding purpose and passion to what we do. Many of our team members have even become Make-A-Wish volunteers for local chapters, donating their time and energy outside of working hours to help bring joy to wish kids. 

I believe more organizations should consider working with nonprofits to enhance their social and economic impact on communities, improve employee engagement, and align brand values to strengthen efforts and effect change. Companies that take action and work toward making positive change are building a stronger internal community of passionate employees, partners, and advocates.

One important element of the partnership’s success is how closely Make-A-Wish America works with its 60 local chapters. For example, when someone saves with the special Make-A-Wish-branded card, our donations go to the nearest chapter where the card was used. This key component draws a direct connection between effort and impact, allowing BuzzRx’s donations to help grant wishes locally. There have even been instances when healthcare providers recognize wish kids from the stories that we share. It’s a privilege that our team, spanning nationwide—including Hawaii and Puerto Rico—has the chance to help children and families experience renewed hope, strength, and joy through the power of a wish in their local communities.

I’m incredibly grateful to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for all that they do to inspire hope in situations that may feel hopeless. It’s rare to see an organization that has managed to successfully unite in its mission across regional chapters worldwide. With their undeniable and unwavering passion, impressive management, and coordination, Make-A-Wish has set a high standard for nonprofits and social organizations to meet. 

Thank you to the BuzzRx team and our cardholders for helping grant over 650 life-changing wishes with Make-A-Wish over the past 10 years. As our reach grows, BuzzRx will continue to donate through our prescription savings card, allowing more and more children facing critical illnesses to experience their dreams and feel the love and support of their communities.
