Cinacalcet (Sensipar) Side Effects

The most common side effects of cinacalcet are listed below. Tell your healthcare provider if these side effects are severe or persistent:

• Stomach upset
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Weakness
• Dizziness

Rarely, cinacalcet can cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical care if you develop the following symptoms:

• Tingling, burning, or other unusual sensations in the hands, feet, or tongue
• Sudden tightening of the muscles in the hands, feet, throat, or face
• Muscle cramps or muscle aches
• Infection at the dialysis access site
• Seizures

Cinacalcet (Sensipar) Overdose: In case of an overdose of cinacalcet, call your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 or emergency services if a person has collapsed, cannot breathe, has had a seizure, or cannot be awakened. Signs and symptoms of an overdose may include the above-listed serious side effects.
