Dyazide (TRIAMTERENE / HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE) Side Effects

Possible side effects of Dyazide are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or do not go away in a few days.

  • Frequent urination
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Dizziness

Some of the adverse effects of Dyazide can be more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you have the following symptoms:

  • Signs of dehydration and high or low electrolyte levels such as dry mouth, excessive thirst, weakness, tiredness, drowsiness, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, confusion, fast heartbeat, muscle pain, cramps, or weakness. 
  • Rash, hives, itching
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Abdominal pain, swelling, or tenderness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin
  • Fever or flu-like symptoms
  • Unusual bruising or bleeding
  • Numbness, tingling, burning, prickling sensations
  • Slow or irregular heartbeats
  • Inability to move the arms or legs

Dyazide Overdose: In case of an overdose of Dyazide, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, or has had a seizure. Symptoms of an overdose of Dyazide may include tiredness, muscle weakness, increased urination, stomach pain, upset stomach, vomiting, and fever.
