Flecainide Side Effects

Possible side effects of flecainide are listed below. Tell your doctor if these side effects are severe or continue after a few days.

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness
  • Changes in vision
  • Uncontrolled shaking of any part of the body
  • Stomach pain
  • Constipation

Flecainide can also cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:

  • Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Swelling of the hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Nausea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Right upper stomach pain
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes
  • Continued cough with mucus that is blood-tinged
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Confusion

Flecainide Overdose: In case of an overdose of flecainide, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the local poison control center or national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has had a seizure. Symptoms of flecainide toxicity may include nausea, vomiting, slow, fast, or irregular heartbeats, convulsions, loss of consciousness, and sudden cardiac death.
