Nabumetone Tips from Pharmacists

  • You can take nabumetone with or without food. If it causes stomach upset, taking it with milk or food might help.

  • Check with your doctor before taking over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen and naproxen, which are also nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Taking these medications during nabumetone treatment can lead to an increased risk of GI bleeding.

  • Before starting arthritis treatment with nabumetone, tell your doctor if you have a history of aspirin allergy. There is an increased risk of an allergic reaction to nabumetone if you are allergic to aspirin. Your doctor will likely tell you not to take nabumetone.
