  • Irregular menstrual periods
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Acne
  • Increased hair growth
  • Weight gain

More serious side effects of norethindrone are listed below. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical care if you experience:

  • Severe stomach pain
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding 
  • Periods that last more than 7 days
  • No menstrual periods
