You only need to take the oxybutynin chloride ER tablet (extended release) once a day.
This medication is available in a low-cost generic version.
It can be given to children as young as 6 years old.

Side effects like dry mouth and constipation are common.
Because of its anticholinergic effects, oxybutynin can also cause serious side effects like prolonged constipation and urinary retention.
You cannot crush, split, or chew the tablet (extended release).
It may not be the best choice for older adults (age 65 plus).
