Oxymetazoline (Rhofade) Tips from Pharmacists

  • You can use oxymetazoline on your entire face (forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin), but do not use it in your mouth, eyes, or vagina, as this can cause skin irritation.

  • Do not use oxymetazoline cream on open wounds or irritated skin, as this can worsen the skin inflammation.

  • Prime the pump before use by pressing it down 3 times. This ensures that the pump releases the correct amount of medicine.

  • Wash your hands after applying oxymetazoline to avoid irritating the skin of your hands.

  • Store oxymetazoline safely out of reach of children to prevent serious adverse effects. If a child accidentally swallows this medicine, get emergency medical help.
