What may interact with Phenylephrine?

Do not take this medication with any of the following:
-Ergot alkaloids, such as dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, methylergonovine
-MAOIs, such as Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate
This medication may also interact with the following medications:
-Certain medications for depression, such as amitriptyline
-Contrast agents used before CT, MRI, or X-ray scans
-Digoxin
-Medications for blood pressure
-Oxytocin
-Phenothiazines, such as chlorpromazine, prochlorperazine, thioridazine

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Phenylephrine

They need to know if you have any of the following conditions:
-Heart or blood vessel conditions
-High blood pressure
-An unusual or allergic reaction to phenylephrine, sulfites, other medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-Breastfeeding

Where should I keep my medicine?

This medication is given in a hospital or clinic. It will not be stored at home.
