Prednisolone Acetate Uses

Prednisolone acetate is a prescription eye medication. It is a steroid ophthalmic solution used to treat eye inflammation caused by infections, allergies, foreign bodies, heat, chemicals, or radiation.

Prednisolone Acetate Mechanism of Action

Prednisolone acetate is a corticosteroid. It helps reduce signs and symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling, and burning by affecting how the immune system works.  

Prednisolone Acetate Doses

Prednisolone acetate is available as 1% eye drops in 5 mL, 10 mL, and 15 mL bottles. The usual dose is 1-2 drops in the affected eye 2-4 times a day.
