Zolmitriptan Side Effects
Possible side effects of zolmitriptan are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or do not go away after a few days.
- Feeling cold or warm
- Dry mouth
- Drowsiness
- Heartburn
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Feeling faint
- Sweating
Some of the adverse effects of zolmitriptan are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following serious symptoms:
- Chest pain, tightness, pressure, or heaviness
- Pain or tightness in the neck or jaw
- Shortness of breath
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Hoarseness
- Speech difficulties
- Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
- Weakness or numbness in a limb
- Sudden severe stomach ache
- Bloody diarrhea
- Pale or blue colored fingers and toes
- Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, or throat
- Skin rash, hives, itching
- Tingling, burning, or pain in the hands or feet
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of zolmitriptan. Contact your health care provider if your side effects are unusual or severe or do not improve over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Zolmitriptan (Zomig) Overdose: In case of an overdose of zolmitriptan, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, stopped breathing, is not responding, or has had a seizure.
