Fluticasone Propionate tips from pharmacists

  • Prime your nasal spray by spraying it into the air 5-6 times before you use it for the first time or when you use it after 7 or more days. 

  • Shake the bottle gently before you spray in each nostril.

  • Do not blow your nose for 30 minutes after using fluticasone nasal.

  • You might feel a temporary stinging or burning in the nose after using the nasal spray. Contact your doctor if these symptoms are severe or do not go away.

  • Do not share your Flonase Allergy Relief bottle with anyone else, as this can spread germs.

  • After you start using fluticasone nasal, the effects typically occur in a few days. Contact your doctor for medical advice if your symptoms do not improve after one week of using this medication.

  • Stop using fluticasone nasal and contact your doctor if you develop nosebleeds or signs and symptoms of oral thrush (fungal infection in the mouth and throat).
