Lamotrigine Tips from Pharmacists

  • Your doctor will gradually increase your dose of lamotrigine with dose changes every week. Use the starter kit provided to stay on track.

  • Call your doctor immediately if you develop a severe skin rash, painful blisters, blistering, or peeling.

  • Do not stop taking lamotrigine suddenly. Your doctor will tell you how to reduce the dose slowly.

  • Tell your doctor you are on lamotrigine before taking any new antiepileptic drugs. Interactions between these medications can increase the risk of severe drug reactions.
