Triamcinolone acetonide is used to treat psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions with inflammatory and pruritic manifestations (conditions that cause itching, redness, dryness, scaling, crusting, and discomfort).

There may be other uses of triamcinolone acetonide—your doctor or pharmacist can give you further triamcinolone acetonide drug information.

Triamcinolone Acetonide (TRIANEX) Mechanism of Action

Triamcinolone acetonide works by decreasing the amount of inflammatory cells to reduce skin inflammation. It also slows down cell turnover and reduces the formation of patches and scales in conditions like psoriasis.
