Triamcinolone Acetonide (TRIANEX) Side Effects

Triamcinolone acetonide can cause the following local adverse reactions. Call your doctor for medical advice if the side effects are severe or do not go away in a few days.

  • Skin irritation (itching, redness, burning, stinging, dryness)
  • Acne 
  • Unwanted hair growth
  • Changes in skin color
  • Tiny red or white skin bumps 
  • Rash around the mouth

Some of the adverse effects of triamcinolone acetonide are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency treatment if you experience the following symptoms:

  • Severe skin rash 
  • Signs of severe allergic reactions such as redness and swelling
  • Signs of infection in the treated area

Triamcinolone acetonide Overdose: In case someone swallows triamcinolone acetonide, call your local poison control center, provincial poison control center, or national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If a person has stopped breathing or collapsed, call 911.
