Zestoretic Side Effects

Possible side effects of Zestoretic (lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide) are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if these side effects are severe or do not go away in a few days.

  • Dizziness
  • Cough
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Heartburn
  • Burning or tingling in the hands or feet

Some of the adverse effects of Zestoretic can be more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you have the following warning signs and symptoms:

  • Allergic reactions with swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Trouble swallowing
  • Hoarseness
  • Chest pain
  • Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
  • Lightheadedness or fainting
  • Abdominal pain, vomiting, upset stomach
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin
  • Flu-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, chills, fatigue, weakness) or other signs of infection
  • Cold or gray skin
  • Dry mouth, thirst
  • Muscle weakness or leg cramps
  • Loss of tone in the muscles
  • Weakness or heaviness in the legs
  • Pain in the big toe
  • Tingling in the arms or legs
  • Little or no urination
  • Restlessness
  • Confusion
  • Seizures

Contact your healthcare provider if your side effects are unusual or severe or they do not get better over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Zestoretic Overdose: In case of an overdose of Zestoretic, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, or has had a seizure. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Zestoretic may include lightheadedness, drowsiness, fainting, weakness, blurred vision, dry mouth, excessive thirst, restlessness, confusion, seizures, decreased urination, muscle pain or cramps, vomiting, upset stomach, and fast or pounding heartbeat.
