Michelle joined BuzzRx in May 2019 and, because of her success and dedication as a BuzzRx Representative, has been named our Q4 2022 MVP!

Out in the field, Michelle represents Make-A-Wish® Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana, as well as the ASPCA®. She also promotes the Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans in some territories, but it is Make-A-Wish she is most passionate about. “I appreciate that Make-A-Wish does so much for families and grants wishes as varied as their recipients. Each wish improves so many lives.” Michelle shares her secrets for success as a BuzzRx Rep.

What do you like most about working for BuzzRx? How have you grown throughout your time with the company?

I love being able to bring my daughter (age 28, who is disabled) on my route or to stay home when I need to. I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of being a 1099 contractor. I love helping people save money and making a difference in great causes. I also enjoy showing pharmacy technicians how they impact others and seeing them derive joy and satisfaction from knowing they are making a difference.

What are some of your keys to success?

In the BuzzRx Rep App, I click "Great Visit" before I enter the store and walk in with the intention of delivering joy with a price sheet that continues to provide valuable information long after I leave.

What did you do before BuzzRx? How has that influenced your experience working for the company?

My last career path prior to BuzzRx was being an insurance agent specializing in coverage for small businesses. Although I enjoyed my work and took pride in the trust of my clients, I felt restricted by the "one size fits all" procedures and limits on time, freedom, and income. When I foresaw layoffs coming, I told my manager that if my team was to be reduced, I was ready to go with a severance package, so I applied to BuzzRx.

Tell me something about yourself that you would like readers and BuzzRx colleagues to know.

Everyone has their days, and during times when I doubted myself or questioned my role at the company, I looked at the leaderboard and saw what was possible (even though everyone's territory is so unique). I figured if they could do it, "why not me?" Month after month, I continued to grow. My momentum kicked in when aiming for the 2020 President's Club (and my severance pay was almost gone).

“If it can be done, I can do it,” I told myself. “Use the bonuses to build your business. Better swag, better paper...use the ‘real estate’ on the back of price sheets for a Make-A-Wish story or other helpful info on how we are different. Sympathize with people in line, but champion for the technicians who are on their feet all day doing their best to get it right. Learn and share where we shine against the competition, keep working, and your script count will grow. I am happy, fun, funny, a little ditzy but serious about serious things. I try to always be nice, see the good, and help anyone whenever I can.”

Please include anything you would like to add or personal stories from the field.

I remember one of the first times a Walgreens in my territory used our card. There was a young couple behind me with whom I started a conversation about a slogan on her t-shirt. They saw I was carrying pens and cards, so I told them about the card that donates to Make-A-Wish. They later saw me in my car entering my notes about the visit and told me with misty eyes that our card saved them $15, and now they could go to Burger King! That warmed my heart, and that store started to warm to our card, too.

My favorite moments are seeing techs' faces and energy change when they recognize me, knowing I always bring something good and my timing is awesome! They are always ready for a treat and someone doing something nice for them!

Michelle’s manager, Trina, shared, “Michelle is a joyful surprise daily! There is always something new to chat with her about and when you're around her you can't help but smile. She leaves me in awe. From the way she cares for her daughter and has a passion to helping others, to all of the creative things she comes up with every month; she pours her heart into all she does and excels at things from an intrinsic place that says, ‘you can make a greater difference here.’ You can hear this motivation in her voice every time she speaks. She continually reaches new heights and works to be better than who she was yesterday. As she discovers new best practices and conversations that work in the field, it amazes me how she's able to inspire so many others on the team to take action. She is a true leader and wonderful team player. She wants everyone to win, and in the process, it not only creates a great culture, but a better company!”

Michelle’s authenticity and ability to connect with people have been essential to building her business. Out in the field, she doesn’t have a planned pitchshe demonstrates that helping others and the charities that BuzzRx supports are the number one priority. When visiting with accounts, she listens attentively and gets to know everyone personally while getting them excited about helping others.

Congratulations, Michelle, on beeing our MVP!
